Audiofier Micron, sound design and workflow focused Kontakt instrument series

Audiofier Micron is a new series of affordable sound design and workflow-focused Kontakt instruments with monthly releases.

There are countless Kontakt libraries on the market, ranging from very basic to super complex instruments with multiple layers. However, you can see that many developers are attempting to create a wide range of sounds using their libraries, employing accessible and intuitive interfaces. See the Kontakt Play Series.

The sound design company Audiofier is now moving in the same direction with Micron, a series that expands monthly with new releases.

Audiofier Micron

Each virtual instrument in the new Micron series centers on a specific musical concept, providing target sonic material suitable for cinematic, ambient, and electronic productions.

The Micron series features three distinct engines. XT Type offers versatile atmospheres, playable instruments, and loops with intuitive control.

Then, Ferrago uses a flexible phrase and loop manipulator in all keys, while Drum gives you dynamic drum loops with editable patterns. Right now, you can find a selection of 12 Micron Kontakt instruments, using the XY engine format. 

Each XT Type-based instrument consists of four playable sample layers, each offering a distinct feature set, including:

• XY Playable: Four-layer playable instruments with expressive XY pad control.
• XY Atmospheres: Multi-layered evolving textures for immersive soundscapes.
• XY Loops: Rhythmic and melodic loops with intuitive XY pad and sequencing.

Furthermore, you have more parameters to adjust, including pan, pitch, attack & release envelopes, low-pass and high-pass filters, and more. These are the first Micron libraries:

We’re talking laser-focused sonic palettes that nail the sound you’re after, whether it’s the suspenseful atmosphere for your next thriller, the driving pulse of a rock anthem, or the intricate layers of a modern electronic arrangement.

First Impression

At first glance, it’s a nice series of very easy-to-play Kontakt libraries. Anyone who likes the simplicity of the Kontakt Play series from Native Instruments will also feel at home here.

The Audiofier Micro series is available now. Each library is $29 and requires the full version of Kontakt 5.8.1+.
