I mean, they’re both “rip offs” of LSDJ, which took inspiration from the trackers of the 80s and 90s, which took inspiration from the likes of Csound and possibly other early digital synthesis techniques, so everyone is copying everyone and it doesn’t really matter.

FWIW, I’d take a M8 over the Tracker Mini any day. In fact I ordered a M8 with the last batch. Pretty stoked!

Tell that to Roland… oh wait… they wouldn’t be able to release anything then, because anything they do is “that authentic/classic Roland sound”. Bit off topic, I know.

And their support and maintenance fir that matter. Bugfixing or implementing promised features into existing gear is somewhat a lower priority than releasing new stuff or these rebrushes.

I know, the M8 only gets released in batches a few times a year but it’s so much better as a tracker. And cheaper than this thing, even with tariffs and postage to Europe. Also it’s performance capabilities with the implementation of Launchpad support absolutely dwarf the Polyend’s cute little features there. Not a plug here, but these two devices are the most comparable so if your in the market for even more gear consider the company and their customer service as well.
