Happy 808 Day. Today, August 8th, we celebrate the legendary Roland TR-808 drum machine, which was released in 1980 and has massively shaped electronic music. The sound of the 808 has become an integral part of music.
Roland is celebrating this with new merchandise and special plugin deals, including a hefty discount on its TR-808 plugin.

The TR-808 plugin is an authentic emulation of the legendary TR-808 hardware drum machine, using Analog Circuit Behavior (ACB) technology.
Alongside the legendary modeled drum sounds, it comes with a souped-up sequencer. It has adjustable flams and sub-steps so that detailed fills and ratcheting sequences can easily be created.
Each instrument has its own “last step” and shuffle settings for atomic timing control, experimentation with polyrhythms, and dialing in just the right groove for a track. Each pattern also has eight variations, allowing you to create evolving sequences on the fly
The classic 16-step “TR-REC” sequencer can be expanded to include a sequencer lane for each drum instrument so users can program faster and more fluidly. Plus, there is a drag-and-drop MIDI pattern from the plugin to the DAW.
