Soundtoys 5.5 is out now, featuring 23 plugins and introducing the new SpaceBlender reverb, as well as resizable user interfaces + Summer Sale.
Soundtoys offers one of the highest-quality effect plugins on the market. They are popular with many musicians. However, there’s one feature that many people have been missing, even SA readers. Indeed, UI resizing hasn’t been possible yet.
The first to offer this, however, was the new SpaceBlender, released in May. Good news for all users: Soundtoys has now released the 5.5 bundle, which introduces a new plugin and UI resizing for all individual plugins.
Soundtoys 5.5
5.5 Bundle is a free update for existing V5 bundle users, now featuring 23 high-quality effects plugins, including Decapitator, EchoBoy, Crystallizer, the latest SuperPlate reverb, and the new SpaceBlender.
Soundtoys 5.5 bundle has been expanded by a new plugin: the new SpaceBlender experimental reverb that is now part of it. It’s an innovative effect processor that uses an algorithmic space reverb inspired by swarm synthesis.
The highlight is the ability to generate and smoothly morph from one reverb type to another. You can achieve classic decay, gated, reversed, bloom, and other reverb types with it.
If you are a user of the bundle, you now have the opportunity to use and explore SpaceBlender in the Effect Rack plugin for the first time. This allows you to combine the processor with other Soundtoys plugins and combine them into a large multi-FX.
To demonstrate this new addition, Soundtoys also ships the new 5.5 bundle with 67 new Effect Rack presets, featuring the new SpaceBlender.
Another major feature is the introduction of UI resizing in the plugins. To do this, go to the bottom right corner of the plugin and drag the window to the desired size. This works in all individual plugins except Effect Rack. I hope this will be added in a later update.
Soundtoys 5.5 bundle also includes various improvements for existing plugins. For example, the EchoBoy Jr now has an extended maximum delay of 15 seconds. Then, the LFO of the PanMan plugin now has an extended bottom range from 0.1 Hz to 0.01 Hz.
Other improvements and bug fixes are the following:
- Updates preset manager assets to be high res.
- Plug-ins now automatically check for version updates.
- Fixed excessive cpu usage with tempo automation in SpaceBlender.
- Fixes crash that could happen at startup in DAWs that connect to the internet.
- Fixes possible pops on instantiation in FilterFreak 1+2, and Crystallizer.
- Fixes crash when clicking on string controls on Windows in Cubase.
- Fixes possible memory leaks in all plug-ins.
First Impression
A nice update with a feature that many people have been requesting for a long time. It’s good that it’s finally been implemented.
Soundtoys 5.5 bundle and plugins are out now. Updates start at $19 for users of v5.4 + SpaceBlender. Soundtoys has also launched a Summer sale with up to 71% OFF on plugins, bundles, and upgrades.
They run as VST, VST3, AU, and AAX plugins on macOS (native Apple Silicon and Intel) and Windows. Registration no longer requires an iLok account.

Having them all except full version of Plate, 39$ from V5.4 to V5.5 seems not very reasonable. I just need resizable GUI and could maybe have fun with Spaceblender within EffectRack. 19$ for those who have all including Plate, I guess?
yes.
