UVI Percussion Factory 2 is the successor of its creative rhythm designer virtual instrument, with new features and content to explore.
In February 2023, UVI released the Percussion Factory, a virtual instrument featuring a wide selection of drum and percussive sample-based instruments, along with inspiring sequencing capabilities.
A little more than two years later, the successor is here. UVI has released Percussion Factory 2, the next generation of its creative rhythm designer for Falcon 3 and the free UVI Workstation plugin.
UVI Percussion Factory 2
Percussion Factory 2 is the evolution of the original virtual instrument released in 2023. The basic idea remains, but has been further expanded in features and content.
The core of UVI Percussive Factory 2 is still sample-based. It ships with an all-new collection of 386 electronic and 281 Foley percussion sources, providing a total of over 1,700 percussion sounds created from more than 10,000 samples.
From these sample sources, the UVI sound designers created more than 800 presets and 6,000 factory sequences, ranging from modern production to regional transitions, to play around with.
It is also important to note that you can easily drag and drop custom samples into the engine.
A lot has also happened in the sound and sequencer engine. This is because the engine’s basis, Falcon 3, has also evolved over the last two years, and the developers have incorporated some of these features into the new Percussion Factory 2.
For example, you can work with new and enhanced effects, including a new parametric reverb, tape delay, granulizer, and bit-crusher. Additionally, it features a new dark mode UI.
Creating Grooves
To bring the sounds to life and create groove, it also ships with the best-known intelligent sequencer that lets you craft and transform patterns in real-time with performance-focused features.
It is powered by a smart engine trained on real-world musical structures. With a single click, explore millions of useful variations across styles and moods.
Among other features, it also includes a sample auto-alignment function that ensures tight transients, while dynamic modifiers, per-part timing offsets, and a morphable groove engine enable deep rhythmic expression. There are also options to mutate individual patterns on the fly.
First Impression
At first glance, a nice update for your percussive library. I prefer the new dark layout to the gray one of Percussion Factory 1.
UVI Percussion Factory 2 is available now at a special introductory price of $89/89€ instead of $149/149. Existing customers of Percussion Factory 1 or SonicBundle will receive it for $49/49€. Both deals are valid through July 21st, 2025.
It runs as a virtual instrument library in Falcon 3 and the free UVI Workstation. Both run as VST, VST3, AU, and AAX plugins on macOS (native Apple Silicon and Intel) and Windows.
It requires an iLok software account and includes three activations. A 15-day trial is available on the website, with no restrictions.

This is a very cool plugin. I told myself I wasn’t going to buy anything non-linux native from here on out but not sure I can hold back on this one. I just have to see if UVI Workstation works in yabridge.
Uhg.. well was going to buy it but UVI Workstation is a pain to get install and working with iLok so I guess I wont be buying this one.
Can this tempo sync with the daw?
sure
