Pladask Elektrisk Stereo Dradd is a new experimental time machine stereo FX processor module for Eurorack, turning your sounds into soundscapes.
Pladask Elektrisk is a Norwegian developer particularly notable for its inspiring, experimental products. In March, I reported on the intriguing Flettverk experimental touch noise synth. It also has non-traditional effects in its portfolio.
A popular one is the Dradd, a time-based effects processor for Eurorack. Pladask Elektrisk has now discontinued this and released the Stereo Dradd, a stereo version of this bloomy, mysterious effect processor module.
Pladask Elektrisk Stereo Dradd
Stereo Dradd takes the original Dradd module to the stereo processing world. Like the original, Pladask Elektrisk Stereo Dradd is an experimental time machine FX processor that takes your sounds into fascinating, unusual territories.
The module is capable of stretching, bending, and inverting time through different audio processing concepts. It offers three selectable algorithms: grain, TDL, and tape. Each algorithm is controllable with various parameters.
Three Algorithms
Grain is a granular time-stretch algorithm that instantly wraps your audio into rich, smearing soundscapes with Lo-Fi character.
Then, TDL is an experimental-flavored tap delay that gives you results from crunchy Lo-Fi delays to smeared delay network-style reverb. With the dedicated shape knob, you can blend between three different TDL shapes.
Depending on the shape, you get various reverb types, ranging from decaying, gate, to reversed characters.
Third and last algorithm is the tape mode that offers a variable sample playback algorithm similar found in the Fabrikant pedal. It is capable to flip your audio into different sonic directions with octave shifting, reverse playing, or shimmering sampling effects.
Exciting is here the rand knob next to the oct knob that can cause the playback to randomly skip between forward and reverse playback. Additionally, you have a clock, mod, and loop parameter, making the algorithm more versatile.
By modifying the clock parameter, you can modify the character of the algorithms. For example, the grains mode give you Lo-Fi and longer grain effects when the clock is low.
Further, Loop is a decay/feedback parameter that can add looping feedback to the algorithms. Especially useful if you want to achieve very experimental results you can’t get past this. And the MOD knob adds jitter and wobble to the sound.
Pladask Elektrisk Stereo Dradd is a Eurorack module and so it also offers modulatable connectivity. Alongside the new stereo I/O, you have CV inputs for loop, mod, clock, and for the two parameters. New on the stereo is a sum output.
First Impression
The original Dradd was a very fascinating effects processor that wrapped audio in beautiful unusual, bloomy textures.
A big highlight was for me the hands-on nature of the module with not menu diving or screen. I’m happy to see that this experimental FX processor effect is now available in a stereo module.
Pladask Elektrisk Stereo Dradd is out now for $285 USD. The first batch is sold out.

I can thank to new GPSR regulation that small manufacturers like Pladisk make business decision rather not to ship to EU and that is why I missed out this lovely release.
strange to me because I didn’t heard from any other EU boutique company, having issue selling to other EU countries.
Pladask is located in Norway, which is not part of the EU, and hence the GPSR regulations impose a bigger hurdle for them than for companies within the EU.
