Sinevibes Inertia v3 is the third generation of its envelope sequencer effect plugin, featuring new enhancements, and is now available for macOS, Linux, and Windows.

Effects enliven the sound. Whether it’s a simple reverb or a multi-FX enveloping the sound, they make simple sounds shine with new brilliance.

If you want something more dynamic and wild, you can go a step further and use sequenced effects like Inertia by Sinevibes, which has just been updated to version 3.

Sinevibes Inertia v3

In its third iteration, Inertia v3 remains a flexible envelope sequencer, but has been entirely redesigned by Sinevibes.

It now has a much more flexible and precise up-to-date DSP and an all-new user interface. Users of Inertia v2 will have noticed that the real-time waveform (shown in red) has been removed from the interface.

Instead, the core of the plugin has been given more space. The new DSP also adds cross-platform support from the start, meaning it supports macOS, Linux, and Windows.

At its core is a super flexible multi-step envelope generator with up to 32 steps and with four separate envelope parameters per step. The type gives you more than 50 possible shape variations, so plenty to explore. Alongside the shape type, you can set the level, polarity, and division per step.

An elastic step sequencer engine with a wide range of timing settings drives the Inertia v3, making both polymetric and polyrhythmic results possible.

To make the results perfect, the generated multi-step envelope signal is shaped by an ultra-smooth, analog-style lowpass filter. From here, the signal goes out of the plugin and modulates the level of the plugin’s input audio.

You can save up to eight sequences per preset, allowing you to switch instantly between sequences without changing the actual preset.

Further, Sinevibes Inertia also features various handy macro editing functions for the sequencer that simplify the workflow and inspire exploration of the engine: copy, paste, reset, trim, invert, shift, evolve, randomize, and loop.

Plus, you have adjustable swing, lag, and more. Sinevibes Inertia v3 is capable of a wide range of sequenceable effects, including sidechain-style pumping, tremolo effects, advanced gating and strobing, and more.

First Impression

As a fan of sequenceable effects, I’m happy to see that Inertia has received a new generation. It could have been a bit wilder, but it’s an excellent update that’s even free for all existing users.

Sinevibes Inertia v3 is available now for $29 and runs as a VST3, AU, and AAX plugin on macOS, Linux, and Windows.

It’s a free update for existing Dynamo, Inertia, and Complete Collection Bundle users. If you are an existing Sinevibes customer, you get a 20% discount and pay just $ 23.20. Check your mails for the discount link.
