Eventide Crushstation Free
Crushstation is a unique stereo overdrive/distortion plugin for macOS and Windows. It just offers a single distortion mode but includes a wide range of parameters.
The first parameter is a level input and a classic dry/wet (mix) control, allowing you to mix the amount of distortion perfectly. Then, you have the drive knob, which can boost singles from shallow, subtle to deep overdrive distortion.
Sustain and grit parameters push the distortion effect into fuzz territory. With the grit control, you can add a low-end, gritty texture to the FX.
There is also an unusual “Sag” parameter that turns the distortion into a broken-line unit. It is inspired by Eventide’s experience of the sound of dying analogue gear: “the power rail sags and the amp starts sputtering, cutting out and sounding ‘broken’.
More Controls
In the second row, Eventide Crushstation features a three-band EQ with bass, mid-frequency, and treble controls to shape your distortion tone. You can gate your signal with the gate switch to tame an aggressive distortion output.
Like every Eventide H9 plugin, it hosts the inspiring ribbon and hot switch functions. The ribbon lets you play the effect in real time and morph back and forth between the settings of your choice—a super fun feature.
Further, the hotswitch lets you switch between two pre-programmed settings within the same preset at the push of a button. Finally, it offers the handy function mixlock that keeps the mix control constant as you audition presets.

maybe it’s because I’m macOS. I can open it without a problem in Chrome. It’s an affiliate link that I have with Eventide, nothing malicious. And why should I spread malicious links to my community? Doesn’t make sense 🙂

Does Eventide Runs an upgrade path like Arturia or Soundtoys: having already any product gives a discount for others? I am more interested in other Eventide products which are too expensive yet.
Soundtoys I started with freebies and I liked them so much that I bought the bundle, so it is a smart sales path by those companies I find. 😉
They do, you can check when you go to buy whatever plugin you’re interested in. Crush station is dope though.
