Sonimus DelaySon
DelaySon is a new free tape delay plugin for macOS and Windows. At the heart of the Sonimus DelaySon engine are three distinct sections: time, delay, and color.
The most important is the time module, which is the core of the delay/echo engine, giving you intuitive control over timing, synchronization, and dry/wet mix. The delay time can be adjusted manually in milliseconds or in sync with your DAW’s tempo (e.g., 1/4, 1/8 notes).
Then, the delay module offers more advanced parameters, including feedback and L/R offset for adjusting the stereo field and creating immersive spatial effects.
The built-in drive adds tape-style saturation to the echoes, infusing harmonics, warmth, and analog-style character. The third and last is the color mode that adds dimension, character, and tonal sculpting capabilities to it.
First, you can add classic tape-style wow & flutter with the dedicated modulation knob. This adds organic movement and a vintage feel to the repeats. Second, you have a handy tone shape that shapes both high and low frequencies of the echoes.
Last but not least, you have a low-cut switch that applies a smooth 100 Hz high-pass filter to the delayed signal, removing excess low-end for a cleaner mix.
Sonimus ships DelaySon with various factory. If you are not happy with these, you can easily create your own and save them in the preset manager.
